The short version
SEO Lens has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no server that receives your data. It does not collect, sell or share your browsing history.
What the extension reads
- The page you open the popup on: its title, meta tags, headings, links, images and structured data, read locally in your browser when you click the icon.
- Google results pages: the result links, so it can show metrics under them.
This information stays on your device.
Who the extension talks to
- The website you are checking (its robots.txt, sitemap, WordPress API and pages linked from Google results).
- Domain registries over RDAP (via data.iana.org) for domain age.
- seo-lens-data.pages.dev for public rank files. It requests one small file chosen by a hash of the domain; we keep no logs of these requests beyond Cloudflare's standard edge processing.
- Google Suggest for keyword suggestions.
- Only if you add your own keys: Moz, Open PageRank (Keywords Everywhere) and DataForSEO, which receive the domains or keywords you look up under their own privacy policies.
Storage
Your API keys, settings and cached results are saved in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. Uninstalling the extension or pressing "Clear cached data" in Settings removes them.
